P&R To Use Old Titles

26th May 2016

The new Policy & Resources Committee will rely on old titles going forward.

The States of Guernsey agreed last year that titles within committees could be amended where appropriate, to make sure that our politician’s roles were clearly understood outside the island.

Our recently elected President and Vice-President will also be known as the more familiar Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

During discussions in the second Policy & Resources Committee meeting, the following changes were decided:

  • Deputy Gavin St Pier will be known as both President and Chief Minister
  • Deputy Lyndon Trott will be known as Vice-President and Deputy Chief Minister
  • Deputy Jonathon Le Tocq will be known as Lead for External Affairs and Minister for External Affairs.
