Ambulance Service replaces raffle tickets after theft
The St John Emergency Ambulance Service is offering to issue replacement raffle tickets after about fifty stubs were stolen from Saumarez Park Cafe, last week.
Approximately £100 was also stolen during the theft on Saturday night.
The tickets were being sold to raise funds as part of an appeal for a new emergency ambulance, and the stubs were due to be collected this week, before the charity concert at St James next Saturday.
Chief Officer of the service, Ali Marquis, says:
‘I am disgusted that anyone would take charity money in a theft like this.
‘Anyone who purchased tickets from the Saumarez Park Cafe can contact us at the ambulance station to arrange for replacement tickets to be issued.
‘Our thoughts are also with the owners of the cafe who have been the victims of two break-ins recently.’
If you bought tickets for the ambulance appeal raffle from the Saumarez Park Cafe, you should visit the St John HQ on the Rohais during office hours with the section of your original ticket, and new numbers will be issued.
If you have any information on the burglary please contact PC 157 Wesley on 725111, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
