Blue Islands Aircraft Diverts to Jersey

16th May 2018

A Flybe flight, operated by franchise partner Blue Islands, was forced to divert to Jersey yesterday afternoon after reporting a fault with hydraulic systems.

The ATR-72 landed in Jersey safely before being met by the airport’s emergency services – as is standard procedure in such situations.

We’re told passengers disembarked the aeroplane normally once it was parked on stand at Jersey airport.

Blue Islands say their engineers are conducting a full investigation into the cause of the fault.

The airline say the safety of their passengers and crew is the highest priority and have apologised for any inconvenience caused by the diversion.

Hydraulic systems in aircraft are highly important – hydraulics allow the operation of landing gear, flaps, flight control surfaces, and braking systems.
