Changes To Postal Rates This April
Guernsey Post has announced it will be introducing changes to its postal rates from Monday 1st April.
The cost of a Bailiwick letter will increase from 46p to 48p and the price of a UK letter will increase from 62p to 65p.
Boley Smillie, Guernsey Post Chief Executive, says the revenue generated from the tariff increase will be below Guernsey inflation.
‘The rates are very much defined by the increases in costs that we receive and that’s predominantly from Royal Mail and other overseas postal administrations. Any rate increases, particularly externally, are due to those increases. We first try to mitigate those increases as much as possible by introducing our own efficiencies, but inevitably we have to pass on some of that cost to customers’.
