Charles Parkinson Wins St Peter Port North By-Election
Former Deputy Charles Parkinson has been re-elected to the States of Guernsey.
The former Treasury and Resources Minister received 571 of the 882 votes cast, defeating fellow candidates Michael Henderson and David Noakes in yesterday’s St Peter Port North by-election.
Voter turnout was low, with just 27% of the 3,224 people registered to vote doing so.
Deputy-elect Parkinson plans to focus on some key issues during the next four months, before the island wide elections.
He says some of the issues facing the parish and the island today, were facing the public when he left the States four years ago.
