Future Digital Strategy project turns focus to users
Guernsey’s chief information officer says it’s time for the island to modernise its IT infrastructure.
His comments come in the wake of an announcement yesterday of their preferred bidder for the Future Digital Services project.
Colin Vaudin says the current systems are aging badly.
‘As has been known for some time we have a number of legacy systems across the States,’ he said.
‘Now is the time we can jump a generation of technology and really deliver the services to islanders that they deserve.
‘This is a large programme of work – not only are we looking to upgrade our core systems across the States of Guernsey, but most importantly we’re stopping focusing on our processes and starting to focus on customers – the islanders that use our services.’
