Speaking will be Rachel Yates, lead for Plastic Free Penzance (the first community to gain the Surfer’s Against Sewage (SAS) plastic free status) and now Plastic Free Communities Officer for SAS. Rachel will be letting businesses know how they can get involved with waste and plastic reduction efforts and how to build on some of the progress already made in Alderney. We will also try and cover some of the more confusing aspects of plastic such as bioplastic (made from plants) and plastics labelled ‘degradable’.

Saturday
A drop-in session from 9am to 12 noon in the AWT Office, for anyone wanting some advice or help on reducing plastic at home or anyone wanting to find out more about what it means to go plastic free.

Following the advice clinic there will be a beach clean at Saye at 2pm, showing how the decisions we all make can affect our environment and leading one way of taking action against plastic.
