DRAGON BOAT RACING

Raising money for the Anthony Nolan Trust. No experience needed - just lots of enthusiasm. You don't need to go to Hong Kong to enjoy this event. You can join locally by organising a team to race head to head in a 40ft Hong Kong style Dragon where the dummer beats out a rhythm for the 16 paddlers. The Guernsey Branch of the National Autistic Society are holding a 'Sunset Ball' in a marquee on the decking of the Guernsey Yacht Club. Tickets are priced at £45 per person. SHANE MOON'S FUNDRAISING TREK
Shane will be trekking through the Costa Rican Mountains and rainforests in November of this year. This challenge is to raise money for Alzheimer's in memory of his mother. THE GTMC CHARITY RIDE

(formally the Wrinkley Run). Islanders can be sponsored to ride as a passenger for 30 minute on a motorbike. This year the event is open to all ages not just the over 50's. PROMS ON THE PIER 2010

An evening of celebration and musical entertainment for everyone. Sing, dance eat and enjoy the proms on the pier. Seating for up to 1,000 people on the Albert Pier. Live entertainment from 7.30pm as well as the showing of the BBC Proms from 9pm on the big screen.

MEMORIAL SQUASH DOUBLES TOURNAMENT

The Guernsey Scottish are bring over a Celtic rock band down from the Highlands, they will be supported by local Celtic people, all happening at Beau Sejour. The event is to promote sponsorship for the Guernsey Deaf Children's Society in conjunction with the Medical Specialist Group to purchase a portable Automated Auditory Brainstem Response machine which will be used locally to detect hearing impairment in our babies.
