Useful Tips
- Turn your thermostat down by one degree. You won't notice the difference, but you'd be surprised at the savings on your heating bill.
- Turn off all plugs except your fridge freezer and the alarm clock at night; or, if you can't do this, consider the use of timers if you're out of the house, so that things come on, only when you want them to.
- Get quotes each time your insurance comes up for renewal. If you change insurer, you could save a packet.
- For one week, write down everything that you spend money on (be sure to include everything - even that bar of chocolate you bought at the newsagents'). Then add up your "un-necessary" spend. You might be surprised at what you could probably live without and how much money you could save.
- Turn the radiators off in the rooms you don't use - spare rooms etc.
