Manche Iles Express apologises after concerns in Sark
Manche Iles Express has apologised for cancelling a number of sailings to Sark, after the island’s Chamber of Commerce voiced concerns.
In a letter to the Bailiwick’s media, the Chamber of Commerce said the island had suffered greatly from the cancellations, and suggested the company favoured the route between Guernsey and Jersey.
It’s understood one vessel is currently out of service until the 12th August, while the other can’t operate in ports which don’t provide marine assistance – including Sark’s.
However, the company insists it doesn’t favour any one route over another, and that the decision to cancel some sailings took ‘no commercial consideration’.
In the meantime – with help from the Isle of Sark Shipping Company – Manche Iles has arranged two sailings between Jersey and Sark, and has offered to absorb any extra charges for passengers travelling via Guernsey.
The company apoligises for any disruption, and thanks customers for their support and understanding.
