More Money Raised By Guernsey Lottery
The Christmas Lottery raised more money for local charities in 2018 than 2017. This is due to a ticket price increase by £1 which was put in place by Trading Assets who manage the Lottery – this has led to a 14% increase in money made by the draw.
Established in 1971, the Guernsey Lottery donates its proceeds to the Association of Guernsey Charities.
Jon Taylor, Senior Lottery Manager says:
“As a result of the restructure, we have been able to give a total of £218,118 to the AGC.”
Chairman of the AGC , Malcolm Woodhams says:
“There have been more winners than ever and charities have really benefited from the new
structure. The AGC would like to thank everybody who supports the draw, including all of the shops,
agents, and retail outlets selling tickets. The Christmas Lottery allows us to provide
significant funding to help charities to expand and improve their services”.
Fourty charities will be benefitting from the proceeds of the lottery.
