48 Hour Treadmill Challenge Launched

12th May 2015

The men who ran seven marathon in seven days last summer are taking on another challenge.

Philip Smith and Warren Mauger will run for 48 hours on treadmills later this summer.

It’s part of a world record attempt to run the furthest distance in 48 hours on a treadmill – the current record is 251.79miles.

They’ll be joined by Robert Young, known as Marathon Man UK – who has been running a marathon every day for a year.

The fourth team member is Adam Holland who is the youngest person to run 100 marathons.

This won’t be a relay – they will all be running for 48 hours.

Warren admits it will be very tough but says it isn’t really about running, it is about the mental challenge and empowering people to push themselves further.

The event will be held in public at Guernsey’s Market Square between Friday 4th and Sunday 6th September.

They will be raising money for charities This Is Epic, The Hub, the NSPCC and Dreams Come True
