Alderney Doctor Investigations Continue
Evidence from an expert who has carried out investigations into concerns about an Alderney doctor is now being reviewed.
Guernsey Police has brought in an independent expert in palliative care after concerns were raised by the Health and Social Services Department after a number of deaths.
A spokesman says Guernsey Police are aware of the impact the investigation is having on the doctor and the relatives of those who died – but add it’s been consistent and remain committed to ensure the process is carried out diligently.
Other potential lines of enquiry are currently being pursued as a result of the independent expert’s findings.
In a statement the Chief of Guernsey Police, Patrick Rice, says ‘a methodical approach is needed due to the complex nature of the concerns raised and they won’t be rushed into making any decisions.’
