Environment Minister Remains Firm On Original Transport Strategy

The Environment Minister still thinks her original transport strategy was the best for the island.

Deputy Yvonne Burford is now asking the States to back her department’s proposals for funding the heavily amended strategy.

The Environment Department is suggesting charging more for petrol and diesel, charging a pound for bus journeys, with discounts for regular passengers and an emissions based first registration duty.

Paid parking clocks don’t feature at all.
