Grow Limited to refurbish its occupational training site
Grow Limited is set to redevelop its entire occupational training site in St Sampson’s.
Set up in 1984, Grow provides a sheltered work environment for those islanders with learning disabilities.
In the year of its 35th anniversary the Board of Directors has unveiled a plan to provide training and skills in a wider variety of occupations than it previously has done, and double the number it caters for at present.
Speaking to Island FM Eddie Higgins, Manager at Grow Limited, said “we are looking after 26 individuals at present with the new site in place we can develop that and evolve to look after 50 people”.
The redevelopment will see an onsite café built, to offer training in hospitality, whilst retail experience will be gained by working in the enhanced retail areas.
In addition a fully-equipped workshop will enable the building of garden furniture and other wooden products.
