FOREIGN OFFICE AND BRITISH EMBASSY JOIN THE SEARCH FOR JONNY

The UK Foreign Office have offered their support in the search for Jonny
Dorey.

The 22 year old Guernseyman who's studying at a university in the US state of
Virginia hasn't been seen for over a week.

The British Embassy in Washington has also said they will help track him down
anyway they can.

The Facebook set up to help spread the word about Jonny's disappearance now
has nearly 13 thousand members.

Bob Beebe is acting as spokesman for the Dorey Family, who are all in
Virginia trying to find Jonny.

He's grateful for all the media coverage there's been so far and says some of
the national news networks are starting to get involved to.

LOCAL DOCTOR RETURNS FROM HAITI

A Guernsey doctor says he's had a difficult time re-adjusting to island life
after a week in Haiti.

Dr James Ray worked at the hospital in Port-au-prince and spent his nights in
a tent on the roof of the city's police station.

His team saw thousands of patients while they were over but he says there's
still a huge amount of work to be done in the quake-hit country.

At the end of the week when he made his way back home his first night out of
Haiti was in New York.

But James says leaving wasn't easy and instead of staying in his hotel he
decided he'd just try and come straight back home.

ENVIRONMENT MEMBERS CAN VOTE ON SUEZ REQUETE

While Suez WAS ditched at the last States Meeting we do have this requete
which will see another debate on the incinerator this month.

Deputy Tony Spruce wants all our politicians to vote this time but its not
clear if Environment's members will take part.

No one from Environment took part in a key vote last month.

That's because they thought there role in the planning process could be
compromised Suez had already lodged a planning application.

But Deputy Spruce says that planning decision can be made at staff level and
this time he wants everyone on Environment to cast their vote so we know what
waste solution the full States really wants.

Island FM's asked Environment if they will take part in the decision this
time.

In a statement from the department they say their members are free to vote
and they'll have to decide individually if that's what they want to do.
