No Progress From Chief Pleas
Sark Electricity is yet to see progress from Chief Pleas, according to the company’s manager.
The island’s government had agreed to look at buying the private business and was originally going to come back with a decision last month. However, we’re told Sark Electricity is yet to hear from Chief Pleas on the matter.
David Gordon-Brown says it’s embarrassing.
‘Basically nothing is happening. We’ve been waiting for the Government to come and value the company and they haven’t done anything. In the meantime the Electricity Price Commissioner has said he wants to do an evaluation which conflicts with the one the Government wants to do, so we’ve asked him to hold off. But it’s a bit embarrassing because the Government aren’t doing anything! So we’re a bit stuck’.
