Carl Ward
Carl has been at Island FM since the station launched in 1992, and yes, he's still on the airwaves!
You may have guessed over the years that he's a big fan of 'The Mighty Spurs' & football in general! Carl says: "The 4pm game on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of beers in your local is the perfect way to wrap up the weekend"
Carl is also known as "Carlos" or "Wardy" to his friends, and before getting involved with radio Carl used to spin the decks in several of Guernsey's nightclubs. His first residency was 'The Deep End' at Cobo (1988), then followed a stint at Scarlett's in 1991 (formerly Barbarella's) & his best remembered run was his 4 years at The Golden Monkey (1993-1997).
Carl is on air every weekday from 2-6pm for the Big Drive Home where you can give 'The Top 3 At 3' a go, he rewinds time & invites you to guess the year.
You can also check out the 'World Weather Report' at 2:45pm each day to see where else in the world is hotter or wetter than Guernsey. He has the coolest new online pages for you with 'Wardy's Website Of The Day' at 4:30pm, plus there's regular news, showbiz, lifestyle & sport throughout the show, as well as the entertainment updates at 4:35 & 5:35pm plus the daily quiz at 5:50pm.
You can also catch Carl every Saturday morning at 10am for 'A Kick Up The 80's'
