Tune-in any analog radio to 104.7FM
If you’re having difficulty listening to us in a web browser, iPod, iPad or Android app, or with a hardware online radio device, have a read through our help guide.
How do I listen online?
Using a web browser, simply click Listen Live, which is at the top of the site. The stream will open in a new player window which you can then move or hide and continue to use your machine while you listen.
What do I need to listen on my computer?
All you need are the latest updates to your web browser, and Adobe Flash player.
I’m trying to listen on a hardware device which uses TuneIn as its directory (such as Sonos), or I’m using a TuneIn app to listen
TuneIn control the geographic areas they provide streams to. If their directory goes wrong, or they decide to remove our feed, we do contact them to get it re-enabled but this is a lengthy process.
In the meantime, you can always add our streaming URL manually to your hardware using the link at the bottom of this page. If a TuneIn app refuses to play the URL, try a different app but usually, we find they play perfectly well.
I can’t hear anything…
Check the volume in the player is turned up and not muted, and that your speakers are connected and switched on.
The player opens but nothing else happens, or I heard an ad or jingle then nothing…
If you’re listening at work your company may be preventing live radio streams. Some other organisations do the same thing.
The stream keeps stopping and restarting…
If you have a slow or busy internet connection this may well be an issue. Our stream is configured to be the best balance of quality and connection speed required. Some ISP’s apply ‘traffic shaping’ which restricts the speed of certain services too. We recommend finding an ISP that does not apply traffic shaping.
Why is the stream out of sync with my radio?
The process of getting the audio onto the internet and to your computer introduces this delay. If you leave the player open for a long time, more than a day or two, you may find this lag increases. Close and reopen it to restart.
I’m not in the UK, and the stream doesn’t work…
Music licensing laws mean we are not able to offer the live stream outside the UK and Channel Islands, sorry.
The stream appears to have stopped working, it normally works fine for me so it must be your end…
If your machine and internet connection are all working normally and you think there might be a problem with our streaming systems, please be patient. We monitor our systems 24/7 and are usually aware of any failures; we’ll be working to restore them. You are welcome to contact our studios and tell us the stream is down but we can’t promise to reply if we’re receiving a large number of comments. We do pass on comments to our engineering team.
How do I listen on my internet radio / wireless media player?
As there are so many different makes and models of internet media players, it’s impossible to detail the instructions for all of them here. Many manufacturers maintain their own list of online radio station feeds that their devices use; they are responsible for keeping the list up to date. If you are using a manufacturers list and our feed isn’t working, please contact them.
If they advise that we need to contact them to add our stream to their systems we will be happy to do so.
Many internet radios and other devices will allow you to input the direct stream URL in order to connect. If your device allows that, the URL you need to listen to Island FM on the internet is http://direct.sharp-stream.com/tindleisland.mp3.
