PEH want your pics for 70th anniversary
The 23rd June marks the 70th anniversary of the official opening of the PEH in 1949 by Princess Elizabeth.
In the lead up to this special day past or present employees and patients, are encouraged to email their photographs of the PEH over the last 70 years.
A selection will then form part of an audio visual exhibition to be launched on the 23rd June.
Lottie Barnes, Culture, Arts & Health Manager, HSC said: ‘Gathering photos by email and stories at the tea party is all part of celebrating the fascinating 70 year history of the PEH. We want to collate stories and memories in
pictures, and audio, from the people who have either worked or been a patient here.
‘Working with the Priaulx Library, Guernsey Museum, Government House and Island Archives, this will be a first in documenting just how integral to the community spirit the hospital has and continues to be.’
Deputy Heidi Soulsby, President HSC said: ‘The PEH continues to be a critical part of the fabric of our community, growing and adapting to population, clinical and technological changes. I very much look forward to seeing this exhibition bring history to life.’
