Public views sought on States’ Members’ pay

14th September 2018

The States want to know your views on how much the island’s deputies are paid.

The community is being invited to have its say by the independent panel reviewing States’ Members’ pay levels, to inform its work.

Individual members of the public, business groups and private and third sector organisations are invited to complete a short online survey, which is expected to take about five minutes.

The Independent States’ Members’ Pay Review Panel will consider current pay levels for the range of States’ Member and Non-States’ Member roles, before recommending whether they are appropriate for the varying responsibilities.

Any recommendations would not affect current Members during the rest of this political term, as they would apply following the General Election in June 2020.

You can take part in the survey here, or can submit comments in writing to teh Independent Pay Review Panel, Sir Charles Frossard House, La Charotterie, St Peter Port, GY1 1FH.

All responses must be in by the 15th October and the results will be published in the Panel’s report, which is likely to be taken to the States for debate during the first half of 2019.
