The Bailiwick will observe a two minute silence at 11am to honour all those who have died for our freedom during times of conflict.

The canon at Castle Cornet will be fired at 11am and again at 11:02am to mark the start and end of the time of reflection – which will also be honoured on Island FM.

We can go to the Castle to see the canon being fired, with it open to the public for free between 10 and 12.

The Royal Guernsey Light Infantry and Militia Museums will also be open and the gunners will be dressed in First World War uniform.

The annual military parade including local dignitaries will take place after 10am, ending at the War Memorial at the top of Smith Street where the 11am silence will be honoured before a wreath laying ceremony.

Other ceremonies will be held at the islands’ other war memorials.
