States of Alderney welcome new Dornier
The States of Alderney are set to welcome Aurigny’s new Dornier, which is due to arrive soon.
The second Dornier 22 NG is expected to be in service next week and its registration will be G-ETAC.
It comes while the States of Guernsey are finishing the specification for a Public Services Obligation tender, which should be launched soon, and sets out the expected level of service for the Alderney routes to Guernsey and Southampton, on the subsidy paid to the operator.
Chairman of the Policy and Finance Committee, James Dent, says:
‘The second new Dornier should help to improve reliability and make it easier to schedule crew.
‘We hope that this will be a turning point for Aurigny.
‘Over the last few years Alderney has had to put up with a sub-standard service and too many technical disruptions to the air service.’
