The States of Guernsey agreed to change the legislation in October, but the Committee for Home Affairs put an application to the Royal Court for a General Order of Extension for this festive days. The application was approved.

This means licensed premises will be able to open from 11 o’clock on Christmas Day morning through to 12.45am on Boxing Day morning.

Off-license hours will not change.

Previously, licensing hours on the 25th December were limited to two set periods from 11am to 2.30pm and from 7pm to 10.30pm.
