Andersons Sold To Pentagon

One of Jersey's longest-running retailers has been sold.

DIY store, Anderson Ltd., has been bought by builders merchant, Pentagon.

The 175-year-old business currently operates two shops - one on Waterloo Street in St Helier and one at Les Quennevais precinct in St Brelade - as well as a depot at Rue Des Pres Trading Estate.

New owners, Pentagon, say the acquisition ensures 'two iconic Jersey brands continue to support the local high street providing quality products and service'.

Derek Anderson, who is the fifth generation of his family to run the business, says they wish Pentagon luck:

"We are delighted that another local family business has acquired Anderson Ltd. It brings with it a heritage and loyal customers who like to buy local. We wish Pentagon all the best in their new venture."

Pentagon Director, Elliot Le Feuvre, will be heading up the day-to-day running of Andersons says:

"I am very excited to be part of such a locally historic company and look forward to working with the team to serve our island-wide customer base between the two branches Waterloo Street and Les Quennevais. Being located both sides of the Island offers customers a very handy collection point if customers are out west or working in town. We will look to develop the range of products over the coming months."

Pentagon says it'll be introducing a new computer system to Andersons, which will allow Pentagon customers to purchase on account as they can at its existing stores.
