New JFA Under 21 Boss Named CEO

Newly-appointed Jersey FA under 21 manager David Kennedy has been named as the JFA's new Chief Executive.

He will replace existing CEO Jean-Luc Desbois this summer.

Kennedy won three successive Murattis as Jersey manager between 2007 and 2009 after a stint as Jersey's first Community Sports Development Officer.

Prior to that, he as Football Development Officer in Midlothian, Scotland.

"I’m hugely excited about this opportunity to drive forward the development of the sport locally.

"Football has played a significant part in my life over the years and I am lucky to have played and coached at a good level. More importantly, over the years I have built a successful career in sports development and I am looking forward to using that knowledge and experience to help shape the future of the game in Jersey."

He will continue as under-21 boss until the end of the season. He took charge of his first game last week in a 3-0 loss to Northern Ireland schoolboys in the Lynne Nicholson Memorial Trophy.

"David brings with him a wealth of experience in sports governance, and we’re delighted he has agreed to join the JFA at a really exciting time for local football.

"As well as his management and leadership attributes, David is a real ‘football man’ and I’m sure he’ll be a great acquisition to the team." - Bradley Vowden, JFA President.
