The Countess of Wessex will visit Jersey in March.

Her Royal Highness will visit the NSPCC's Gower Centre on Stopford Road a patron of the children's charity on Tuesday 24th March.

She will attend a lunch for the charity hosted by the Lieutenant Governor and Lady Dalton at Government House.

“We are thrilled to welcome our charity’s Royal Patron HRH Countess of Wessex to the Gower Centre to meet the volunteers, staff and supporters who make the crucial work we do possible.

The Countess will help us thank them and our fundraisers, who raise money that enables us to offer direct services and free safeguarding assemblies in Jersey primary schools.

NSPCC Jersey supports children who have been sexually abused to rebuild their lives, and helps expectant parents to manage anxieties. The Countess will hear from Islanders who benefit from these direct services during her visit.”  - Jacky Moon, Service Centre Manager

Sophie, Countess of Wessex will also stop by the sight impairment charity EYECAN in St Martin and the William Knott Child Development and Therapy Centre at Overdale.

The Bailiff announced the Royal visit during this morning's States sitting.

The wife of Prince Edward, HRH was last in the island in 2015 for the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day.

A royal visitor is anticipated for the 75th anniversary celebrations on 9th May 2020, but no details have yet been announced.
