Sam Marsh's talk will focus on how in the 18th and 19th century and even today, the West views and how it reacts with countries and cultures in the East. This influences art, architecture, design and many other areas of our life today.

Sam and Marion Marsh arrived here in Guernsey in 1978 after living a few years in Hong Kong where their passion for Chinese Porcelain was ignited. This culminated in Sam writing his book “Brushpots: A Collectors View” an encyclopaedic account of their collection.
His talk will focus on how in the 18th and 19th century and even today, the West views and how it reacts with countries and cultures in the East. This influences art, architecture, design and many other areas of our life today.
Doors at Les Cotils open at 6pm for complimentary drinks and the lecture is from 7 to 8pm. Entrance is free to members and non-members £15 at the door if space permits.
