The Search for Santa’s Assistant is on!

Who deserves to switch on St Peter Port's Christmas Lights with Santa? 

This Christmas, we’re looking for someone truly special to be in charge of a very important job - and we want YOU to tell us who that should be.

Sure by Beyon and Island FM are on the hunt for the 2025 Sure Christmas Star; someone who brightens the lives of others and would be the perfect fit for the job of Santa's Assistant (yes you heard that right!) to help him turn on St Peter Ports Christmas lights on the 29th of November!

Whatever the reason you have for nominating someone special, like Santa, this person simply needs to fit the criteria of being kind, caring and wonderful to other people. 

The Prize

Santa's Assistant will be invited live on air on Monday 24th November and crowned the 2025 Sure Christmas Star. They'll be given the role of switching on the spectacular Christmas tree and St Peter Port lights with Santa on the 29th November - along with an early Christmas present from Sure.

Plus, the two runner ups will also receive an early present, as a thank you for being so wonderful.

Imagine the applause, the lights, and the festive atmosphere as your nominee becomes the Sure shining star of Guernsey’s Christmas big switch on.

Who Can You Nominate?

Absolutely anyone aged six or over - it could be a friend, a neighbour, a teacher, a volunteer, a family member, a colleague… anyone who makes life a little brighter.

Why We’re Doing It

Community is at the heart of Sure by Beyon and Island FM, and this year we want to celebrate the young (or older) people who make a difference in our island community. What better way than by letting one remarkable person switch on the St Peter Port lights with Santa himself!
