Guernsey's Social Investment Fund is inviting applications for sizable charity funding.
Guernsey's Social Investment Fund (SIF) was created 6 years ago to collect and distribute public and privately donated funds to the charity sector.
In that time, more than £6M has been given out to local charities and not-for-profits which can demonstrate how they improve the lives of Bailiwick residents or its environment.
The Major Grants Programme is for financial assistance in excess of £15,000 where clear, measurable outcomes can be achieved with the money, as follows:
• Improving the lives of people with specific needs, disadvantages or vulnerabilities
• Employment, education or training opportunities
• The protection of our natural environment, culture and heritage
• Improved health and well-being for our community
• An inclusive community, which challenges the barriers causing disadvantage or discrimination
As an example, the SIF awarded Guernsey Chest & Heart £150,000 towards three years of core running costs.
Charities should contact SIF to arrange a meeting before submitting an application.
The deadline is midday on 15 May.
