This year has seen a dip in sales of tickets, with the jackpot nearly £100,000 smaller than in 2021.

Jon Taylor, Guernsey's Senior Lottery Officer, says that the drop in tickets sales could be down to a number of factors.

"It could be the struggling economic climate at the moment or just a general decline in retail sales, I don't know what the answer is just yet.

We will be able to investigate in the new year. We work closely with the distribution agents in both islands, and we're in conversation with the resellers, but most importantly we give islanders the opportunity to give us feed back."

Proceeds from the ticket sales stays in the islands and is distributed as grants to charities and good causes in the community.
