More than 3,000 hedges and trees have been planted in Guernsey as part of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative.
The charity Guernsey Trees for Life says its Platinum Jubilee project it far exceeds its annual target of 500.
The project started a year ago with the planting of an English Oak in memory of Prince Philip.
Since then, the charity has welcomed its new patron, Lieutenant Governor Richard Cripwell and corporate sponsor Channel Island Fuels.
"This has helped put Guernsey on the map of the Queens Green Canopy and considering our size, this is a really positive contribution, adding significantly to the repopulation of native species and enhancement of the biodiversity of selected areas in Guernsey.” - Colin Dodd, GTFL Committee.
The sponsorship has aided its Planting for Schools Project - where every class in the island was given a tree to plant in its school grounds.
"It has been a big project to coordinate, especially during the challenges of the COVID surge, but we managed it. Involving youngsters in what we do is a key aim of the charity in educating the next generation about the importance of trees to our environment."
