Hundreds of drink covers will be handed out in town this evening (6 April) to help reduce drink-spiking in Guernsey's pubs and clubs.
The NightCap Initiative is a local activist group's latest attempt to tackle the issues associated with the island's night-time economy.
The Guernsey Women's Collective will be in St Peter Port this evening, giving out 500 drink covers, free of charge.
Founding member Daisy Chapple explains where the group will be:
"From around 7pm we'll be walking from Le Pollet where Bad Habits and Canvas is, going all the way along that strip over to the bus terminus where Mojito is.
We will be going back and forth until we’ve handed out all of the NightCaps."
The product, that was featured on the American business reality show Shark Tank in 2021, transforms from a cover that stretches over any glass lip, with a straw hole, to a scrunchie that you can wear on your wrist.
Daisy says everyone is welcome to have one:
"If you feel like you need one or if you feel like you’ll be safer with one then come over and grab one.
Will be approaching people and explaining what they are, but we are all very friendly so don’t feel like you have to stay away or wait for us to come to you - come over and introduce yourself."
