From today, 21 July, the number 92 bus will include the harbour terminal in its itinerary.
Guernsey Airport has long been served by several buses but until now, not the harbour.
From today, the number 92, which is the round the island route, will call at the terminal every hour at 40 minutes past from 0840 until 1840.
This covers Monday to Saturday, while it is every two hours on a Sunday.
The new stop will not feature on a timetable until the new one is printed in September.
The move is designed to encourage more people out of cars and onto public transport, or to walk or cycle.
Laura Oxburgh is the States' head of on-island travel and transport:
“Some visitors who come to Guernsey without a car find it challenging to walk from the bus terminus to the harbour to catch a boat, so this is a very practical change that will benefit those who rely on the bus service."
Peter Knight is the MD of Stagecoach South West and says the new stop will make it easier for people arriving by boat to connect directly with bus services:
"Improving accessibility and convenience for both islanders and visitors is something we’re always striving for, and this new stop at the harbour terminal is a great example of how small changes can make a big difference.
"We’re committed to working with the States of Guernsey to continue aligning public transport with the needs of the community and the ambitions of the Integrated Transport Strategy.”
