New artwork in the Princess Elizabeth Hospital's Emergency Department aims to distract and comfort children receiving care.
Ernie’s Angels, a Guernsey charity set up in memory of Ernie Bucklund-Leale, donated £5,000 to refurbish the children's bay in the Emergency Department.
Will, a mascot from the children's ward, has been painted on the walls, going on Guernsey adventures.
An artificial skylight and an interactive touchscreen have also been added to the space.
Acting ED Ward Manager Nell Farmer says positive surroundings can help patients and their families relax.
“There is a significant body of evidence that demonstrates the positive impact your surroundings have on your health and wellbeing. Nowhere is this more important than in a hospital setting.
"We are absolutely delighted with the newly refurbished children’s bay.
"We want our patients to feel as calm as possible while they are with us, so the warmer environment that the design work has created is incredibly valuable to both staff and patients who work in the Emergency Department.”

ED team leader Alice Rae says the interactive touchscreen has been used a lot.
"Everyone has really loved the new look so far.
"It can really difficult to look after an unwell child if their sibling is also stressed, so the interactive screen takes them away from the stressful environment, and in front if what is basically a big iPad with all sorts of games.
"I've also seen parents using it too, so it is a stress-relieving tool for all in the department."
Artist Sammy Giovinazzi from GIO Creative Works created Will the blue mascot, which is meant to represent 'willpower'.
Children who receive treatment at the Emergency Department will also receive a mini Will teddy bear to take home and keep.
