Jersey and Guernsey lifeboats were launched last night (27 December) to assist a French fishing boat taking on water.
Volunteer crews were deployed just after 9PM to the northwest coast of Jersey.
When Jersey's RNLI arrived, a French helicopter was already on the scene and had dropped a diver and salvage pump onto the stricken vessel.
An additional pump was transferred across before Guernsey's larger lifeboat arrived.
Due to the size of the casualty vessel (20 metres), the Ports of Jersey tug vessel was deployed and was instructed to take over the tow.
The St Helier lifeboat was then stood down and returned to St Helier at 2AM.
