A tech issue has postponed the introduction of the Dart Fisher, an all-weather catamaran that was due into Alderney over the weekend.
The Dart Fisher was just an hour into its voyage to Cherbourg on Friday evening (20 September), when it experienced a technical problem.
This forced the owners to turn back to the boatyard in Great Yarmouth for engineering back up.
Alderney Ferry Services say the problem was easily fixed but the spare part could take 10 days to deliver.
The boat's skipper says the good news is the vessel handled the two metre seas off East Anglia extremely well.
The all weather catamaran was due to arrive into Braye Harbour yesterday, 22, after a stopover in Cherbourg.
The company says as soon as it is fixed, it will get the 12 seater, former windfarm support vessel into service.
The aim is to offer year round sea connectivity to Alderney.
