Dozens of motorists have been caught committing the so-called Fatal Four offences on Guernsey's roads.
Guernsey Police have been targeting people committing the four most fatal driving offences.
In the past month, 15 drivers have been arrested for drink driving. 11 of those were charged in what officers have dubbed Operation Uptown.
One motorist Gave a road-side breath sample that was more than four and a half times over the legal alcohol limit.
Acting Chief Inspector, Operations, Tom Marshall says the number of arrests made for drink driving in the four week period was 'totally unacceptable'.
21 motorists were issued with fixed penalty notices for not wearing a seatbelt. A further six were fined for using a mobile phone whilst behind the wheel.
14 people were stopped for speeding and three of those were charged with dangerous driving. Some of the speeds recorded were 75mph.
“While fixed penalty notices are issued every year for mobile phone usage and misuse of seatbelts when driving, we are concerned that these offences take place on a wider scale than is represented by the statistics. Any action that distracts you while driving makes you a risk to other road users.”
