A new wellness retreat, The Centre, has launched in Guernsey, offering equine-guided healing.
The Centre is working with Visit Guernsey to promote a new 'grounding' therapy locally.
The sessions don't involve conversation or medication, but bonding and caring for horses.
Founder Claire Cole says horses are naturally calming.
"When you stand in the presence of a horse, because they have a really big heart and a big magnetic resonance field, it starts to calm your nervous system and slow your heart rate.
"You enter a coherent state, that is when you are able to make really well-informed decisions.
“Horses have helped me come home to myself by finding my centre.
"The horses notice when you’re disconnected, anxious, or guarded and they respond accordingly.
"In this space your patterns will become visible, not through criticism but through gentle, honest reflection.
Claire says customer feedback has been positive so far.
"They always go away feeling really relaxed, grounded and safer in their body.
"It completely transforms the way they view themselves and the world."
