Presentations will be held so parents and carers of primary school students can ask questions of senior educationalists.

Parents of primary school students will be invited to early evening meetings at the school their child attends. The presentations will be similar in style to those held with parish officials earlier this month.

There will be a short introduction by Deputy Matt Fallaize, President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, followed by presentations by Executive Headteacher Liz Coffey and either Kieran James or Vicky Godley, Principal Designates at Victor Hugo and de Saumarez colleges respectively. A senior officer will also give a short presentation on infrastructure, including traffic management.

The audience will be invited to ask questions after each short presentation. The meetings will start at 6pm with an expected finish time of 8pm. Meetings will be held at 11 primary schools over the next five weeks. Each school will contact parents directly to invite them and provide further details of the meeting at their child’s school.

Deputy Matt Fallaize, President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, said: ‘Following the productive meetings we held with parish officials earlier this month, and the various drop-ins we have held at the Les Beaucamps and St Sampson’s sites, we are committed to engaging directly with other stakeholders.

'We are grateful to primary school headteachers for providing us with access to their school halls to host these meetings, which will provide an invaluable opportunity to discuss the reforms to secondary and post-16 education with parents of children who will experience all of their secondary education in the new school and its colleges. A key part of the meetings will be to give parents the chance to ask questions, particularly of the senior educationalists who are carefully planning how the two colleges will operate
day to day.
