Grow goes to Chelsea Flower Show

Guernsey charity Grow will have the 'amazing' opportunity to highlight its achievements on the national stage at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show later this month.

It has been invited to join Burncoose Nurseries on their exhibit ‘Over the Garden Hedge', which reflects a cross-channel collaboration between Guernsey and Cornwall.

Grow's Workshop team is designing and building two large-scale wooden bug “hotels” that will feature in the display.

Grow says its participation will give the group valuable hands-on experience of professional garden building.

Board member Marguerite Talmage says it will also build confidence, skills and motivation, with the knowledge brought benefiting the Grow community. She told Island FM.

"It is an amazing opportunity to be part of what is recognised as the biggest flower show in the world.

"It showcases what our crew are capable of making and the sort of products we produce.

"It is very exciting! It will be something to build on in the future and will raise the profile of Grow on a national level."

Grow will be represented in London by two Crew members, Alex Adamson and Alex Houchard, accompanied by Horticulture Manager Stuart Smale and Marguerite Talmage, who will all help with the final build of the garden.

The prestigious flower show takes place between 19 May to 23 May.
