Staff at Guernsey airport came to the rescue of Guernsey Post to enable the Christmas mail to leave the island.
On Saturday evening (21 December), as the plane was being loaded, the scanners used to check the contents broke down.
Security staff at the airport allowed the mail to be screened using their scanners, meaning there was no disruption.
Guernsey Post's Head of Transport, Steve Lawrence, says with Christmas approaching, they know how important it is for gifts and cards to reach loved ones.
“We are incredibly grateful to Travis Torode and the team for stepping in and going above and beyond to help us in this situation.
Their quick thinking and support ensured that we could keep the mail moving during such a critical time.
This kind of teamwork is what makes all the difference, especially in the lead-up to Christmas."
