Ambulance and Rescue urge islanders to think of the cost of an emergency call out if they do not subscribe to the scheme.
From 2027, the annual ambulance subscription for adults in Guernsey and Herm will rise by £4 to £75.
It will cost £35 for children (around 9p a day), £53 for senior citizens, and £174 for Sark residents.
Without a subscription, an emergency ambulance call-out in Guernsey will cost £610 — up £25.
The annual fee covers Marine Ambulance call-outs to Herm and Sark, which without it would cost locals £675 or £2,524.
The most expensive charge from the local ambulance service is if a non-Bailiwick resident needed a marine ambulance deployed to a cruise ship, costing £4,262.
Chief Ambulance Officer John Atkins says they want households to consider if they could afford an unexpected ambulance bill.
“Most parents don’t start the day expecting their child to need an ambulance.
"We all hope our children will stay safe and well, but accidents and illness are part of life, and they don’t always happen when we expect them to.
"The monthly cost is less than what you’d pay for an ice cream at the beach.
“It might be a fall in the playground, an accident on a bike or something more serious.
"If you need to call 999, the last thing you want is to be worrying about an unexpected bill on top of everything else."
Alderney residents don't pay directly for an ambulance subscription because it is covered by the tax system.
