Guernsey back on major cruise line's schedule

Princess Cruises puts St Peter Port on its itinerary for 2027.

Guernsey Ports and Guernsey Cruises are celebrating some nautical good news this autumn.

Following some targeted work at a recent trade show, Princess Cruises has put Guernsey back on its itinerary for 2027.

Princess is a big player and used to disembark between 30,000 to 40,000 passengers in St Peter Port each year until the pandemic.

Its return is being celebrated by Cruise Guernsey's business development manager, Mark Renouf:

“We are thrilled to feature on Princess Cruises’ advance schedule for 2027.

"This exciting development reflects renewed confidence in Guernsey as a cruise destination, and the work we are doing to increase the number of visitors to Guernsey from larger and smaller cruise liners."

Recent visitor numbers showed a slow down but the first two weeks in September are expected to reverse that, with 7,000 cruise passengers due into Guernsey between Thursday 4th and Sunday 7th.

Separately, the ability to dock alongside in St Peter Port for smaller vessels is being heralded as a 'game changer' by James Williams, the operations manager at tour agent Excursions Ltd:

"Our guests now enjoy a much smoother and more enjoyable arrival experience, with more time to explore the beautiful island of Guernsey, whether on a guided excursion or at their own pace."

Number 1 berth can accommodate vessels up to 130 metres in length.
