Guernsey firm provides States IT helpdesk services

Multi million pound contract with Agilisys officially ended last night, 31 July.

Guernsey company C5 Alliance was the first to be named under the new multi vendor model adopted by the States of Guernsey.

It came about because the States terminated its partnership with Agilisys.

The States gave notice in May that its 10 year, £200M contract would end four years early.

It says it has done this 'for reasons relating to Agilisys' performance of the contract.'

Instead, five separate companies will cover government's IT provision and enhancement.

The multi-vendor model is said to have several benefits, including better access to expertise, increased supplier accountability, and a reduced risk of service disruption.

Gé Drossaert, the States' Chief Digital and Information Officer, sees the move to C5 Alliance for IT support as positive:

"‘I am particularly pleased that we have been able to appoint an on-island provider who invests in Guernsey, and believe this represents
value for money.

"I am confident that C5 are dedicated to deliver a first-class service and form an integral part of our new model."

The offices used by Agilisys in the Bordage are already vacant and up for rent.
