Le Tissier scored her first senior international goal for England.
England women were in Crete last night (9 October), taking on Greece in the first leg of their Women’s World Cup play-off semi-final.
Maya Le Tissier started at right-back as the Lionesses defeated their opponents 3-1.
During the match, the United captain scored her first goal for the England national team.
Manager Sarina Wiegman was full of praise:
"She's working so hard every single day when she's with us, when she's with club you can tell and that was a very good goal so of course I'm very happy for her and for the whole team of course too because that was an important goal."
The teams will meet again in the return leg at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday (13 October).
The winners will face either Slovakia or Ukraine in the next round for a place at next summer’s tournament.
On socials, the Lionesses shared an image of Le Tissier on the pitch with 'a big smile'.
