Guernsey Had A Wetter Than Average January

Guernsey Met recorded less sunshine and more rain in January 2023.

Over the 31 days in January, 120mm of rain fell. This is way above the average of 90mm.

The island saw the most rain over a two-day period (15 to 17) with around 17% of the total (20.8mm) falling on 17.

These downpours quickly filled the island's 14 reservoirs.

Guernsey also had less sunshine.

However, it was slightly warmer than usual with an average temperature of 7.7°C, instead of the 30-year average of 7.2°C.
