Guernsey Police have arrested a local man in connection with the Vale Garage burglary.
The 24-year-old man is being held in custody, while police enquires continue.
It's understood a member of staff was preparing food around 3.30am on Tuesday (30 April), when the burglary occurred.
The night worker was injured and had to have hospital treatment.
Guernsey Police described the perpetrator as a white male, who was wearing dark clothing and covering their face with a pulled down beanie.
They attempted to steal items from the safe before leaving on foot in the direction of Route Des Coutures.
Officers are still asking witnesses to come forward, and Crimestoppers is offering a reward of £750 for information leading to a conviction.
