Two Guernsey Police officers are going to London to help manage the crowds attending the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
PCs Emma Bailey and Lyndsey Bell will be supporting the Metropolitan Police Service with ceremonial security duties with colleagues from other Crown Dependencies and Overseas Territories.
They are attending a deployment briefing on Friday (5 May) to be assigned their specific duties.
Both officers say they feel privileged to assist in a "once in a career" major national event.
Guernsey's Head of Law Enforcement, Ruari Hardy says this will be a special occasion to police:
“The Coronation of King Charles III will be a unique and inspiring event for our Nation and of course the first such event for so many of us as it has never been seen before in our lifetime.
It is a hugely important occasion and the security for those taking part is of great importance.
Guernsey Police are delighted to be able to send two exceptional officers to represent both this organisation and our Bailiwick in London.
I have no doubt they will do an excellent job and I know they will undertake these duties with enormous pride and professionalism."
