Ms Helen Willetts will leave St Mary and St Michael’s Catholic Primary School at the end of the academic year.
Ms Helen Willetts has worked in education for 30 years, and spent the last 18 years as headteacher of St Mary and St Michael’s.
Under her guidance, the school has received strong outcomes in both Ofsted and Catholic Schools Inspections.
Ms Willetts says she will miss the school community.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to lead St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary School for the past eighteen years, where faith, learning and community have flourished together.
"St Mary & St Michael Catholic Primary School has been an enormous part of my life, and I am retiring with many wonderful memories and friendships that I have made along the way.”
From September 2025, Mrs Mary Robertshaw will become an Executive Headteacher, leading both St Mary and St Michaels and Notre Dame.
She has more than three decades of experience in teaching and school leadership.
The new role is designed to allow the schools to share best practices, strengthen collaboration and make more effective use of resources.
Mrs Robertshaw says she is 'deeply honoured' to take on the new role.
"These are two very special schools, each with dedicated and caring teams, and I am excited to begin this new chapter.
"Ms Willetts will be leaving St Mary & St Michael in an extremely strong and positive position, and I look forward to working alongside the senior leaders, staff, children and parents as we continue to strengthen and celebrate our thriving Catholic school communities together.”
